Time flies when you're busy at work I guess. I try to keep in mind that there's only a few more days and it'll be all over. That ways I can spend some time just sitting in my home sweet home and having tea and treats with Allie, Puffy, and friends. This year, I'm going to make some pleasant memories of a happy Christmas. Having fun will be number one :). Oh, which reminds me! Since Rufus and Tristan left for the holidays, Rufus sent over his kitty cat Fuzzy, and those two boy things have been playing so well together. It's just adorable. They form this heart shape when they snuggle up with their legs against each other's tummies.
I'm behind on Christmas gifts this year, but everyone around me has been pretty understanding with the fact that I've had so little time to do anything at all. I do need to get my lists all checked off to make this year as good as any. But one name at a time is all it takes. And brick by brick, we build a city! |

Surprise, surprise!
My portfolio is actually halfway done and we're well on our way into second term. So what does this mean? It means I'm on track and doing what I should be doing - with money to spare. Which means this weekend, tada, I'm free to be a wild child. Oh, movie references not intended. I noticed there were actually some interesting events going on around, and it would be such a shame for me to miss it without any of my excuses lying around. I've even rummaged out my leisure wallet. Yes, the leisure wallet, made to inspire me to go out and collect pretty trinkets and the sort of play-thing souvenirs you put on a desk or a piano to look at so seldomly.
I get complacent when I relax though, and so I start to think that I should do something on my feet. Something upbeat, you know? Something totally, totally raw and out there and in some fast-paced stream. |

Oh my god. I can not believe it's Halloween already. What, it's like after Halloween, there's Christmas and New Year and another year has gone by. What have I been doing the past few weeks? I don't even have a clue. I just woke up this morning, went to school, and all of a sudden, I'm realizing it's Halloween. Where is it coming from? It's such a rush, I barely finished my project. Barely. And now I'm about to start another one.
The funny thing is, I know I'll have a costume for Halloween when the little kiddies come around for candy. I just don't know what I'll be going as. Allie said she picked something out for me, but oh I can't tell if she wants to be a fairy one year or a kitty-cat the next. Sometimes she wants me to go as the polar opposite or just a color matching twin. I guess I'll leave the surprise for when that special night comes.
At any rate. PUFFY has been such a nice boy and he's mainly kept to three choice locations for the past week, but since yesterday he's stuck to that top floor like a cotton to his candy and, I can't even believe it, it's so tragic he's about to be torn away from his little boy-kitty friend. How can you do this, you-know-who? How? What kind of humanity is this to break up a furry, loving, kitty-couple? Someone please put in a vote to not break kitty-couples up. They were so cute. |

There's nothing like a swords and sandals movie on a cold, drizzly Sunday afternoon. It's been a while since the last time I've seen Gladiator, but it always makes me emotional when I see it. It must be the soundtrack, though, because Hans Zimmer composed it so beautifully. There's nothing as poignant as the motif from 'Honor Him' - and honestly, Maximus's death would have been underplayed had it not been for the music. It's hard to watch a movie when you only know the soundtrack to it so well, and it's all so well-combined with the scenes, but I'm so prone to noticing when one song starts and ends, and when nothing's being played at all.
Alexander's a little different though. I think I just like the movie in general, and I have a thing for promoting Alexander and Hephaistion as a couple. And Vangelis really composed such a wonderful compilation that I don't really notice the scene switches to the musical switches. It's all nuanced so well. Allie and I were going to watch Alexander together but she had to leave early, which was a little disappointing. But at least she stayed for Gladiator. Maybe next week we'll watch Troy and Tristan + Isolde, since that would tie well for love stories, and then after that maybe Kingdom of Heaven and King Arthur. We'll just see how our schedules work out. |
